                                LAWS OF MARYLAND.

                                            CHAP. LXX.
An Act authorising and empowering the Levy Court of Anne-Arundel
    County to assess and levy a sum of money for the support and maintenance
    of Ezekiel Waters.

    BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
levy court of Anne-Arundel county be and they are hereby directed
and empowered, at their levy court annually, to assess and levy
on the assessable property of said county, a sum of money not exceeding
thirty dollars, for the support and maintenance of the said
Ezekiel Waters, and that the same be collected annually, by the
collector or collectors of Anne-Arundel county, and paid to the
said Ezekiel Waters, or his order.

                                          CHAP. LXXI.
An Act authorising a Lottery to raise a sum of money for opening a
    Road from Western Port on George's Creek, to Savage River, in
    Allegany County.

proposed—managers
to give bond.
    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
it shall and may be lawful for John Templeman, Adam Siglar,
Thomas B. Crawford, James Morrison, William Price, Edward
McCarty, senior, and James Mosely, or a majority of them, to
propose a scheme or schemes of a lottery for raising a sum of money
not exceeding one thousand dollars, and to sell and dispose of
the tickets thereof; provided, the said John Templeman, Adam
Siglar, Thomas B. Crawford, James Morrison, William Price,
Edward McCarty, senior, and James Mosely, or such majority of
them as shall undertake to act under this law, shall, before the
sale or disposal of any ticket or tickets in said lottery, give their
bond to the state of Maryland, in the penal sum of two thousand
dollars, conditioned that they will well and truly apply so much of 
the money arising therefrom, within six months after the drawing
of said lottery shall commence, as will satisfy the fortunate adventurers
for prizes drawn by them, and after deducting the necessary
expenses incurred in said lottery, shall, within twelve months
from the time of the drawing of said lottery shall commence, cause
the said road to be opened and cleared out in the best manner the
sum of money raised by the said lottery will admit.
Bond to be lodged
in clerk's office.
    2.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That it shall be the duty of said commissioners,
before they act as such, to lodge such bond in the clerk's
office of Allegany county, there to be recorded, and upon such bond,
or any office copy thereof, suit or suits may be instituted against
the obligors therein, or any of them, or their or any of their legal
representatives, for any breach or non-compliance with the condition
of the same.

An Act to provide for the appointment of Commissioners for the regulation
    and improvement of Snow-Hill, in Worcester County.

Preamble.     WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly, that it would
greatly contribute to the advantage of Snow-Hill, in Worcester
county, that the same should be placed under the care and regulation
