An Act to confirm an old Road in Worcester County. Lib.

Road confirmed. |
1. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
an old road in Worcester county, leading from Poplar-Town to
Purnell's bridge, and also a branch of said road leading to the upper
end of William Franklin's plantation, shall be, and the same
is hereby confirmed as a public road, as it now runs, twenty feet in
width, and shall be considered a public road, and kept as such,
in the same manner that other public roads are kept in said county. |
May be turned
agreeably to an
order obtained
from court. |
2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That John J. Williams
and Belitha
Griffin, be and they are hereby permitted to turn said road agreeably
to an order obtained by them from Worcester county court
for that purpose, provided the said court shall receive and confirm
their return of the same. |
Discretionary
power vested in
county court. |
3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said county
court are hereby
empowered to confirm or reject the return of said John J. Williams
and Belitha Griffin, in the same manner that the said court could or
might do, had the same been a public road at the time of granting
the said order. |

that inconveniencies
arise from the different names that have been applied to
Creswell's Ferry, on the Susquehanna, in Cecil county. |
Name changed to
Port Deposit. |
1. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
the place now called Creswell's Ferry, in Cecil county, be and is
hereby declared to be called and know in future as Port Deposit. |

1. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
Robert Evans, John Stump, Daniel Sheridine, William Hollingsworth
and John Creswell, be and they, or a majority of them, are
hereby appointed commissioners to lay out and open a road in Cecil
county, not exceeding thirty feet in width, beginning for the same
at the state line, between Pennsylvania and Maryland, at the intersection |
