An Act for the benefit of John Pointer of Worcester County. Lib. TH.
                                         No. 3, fol. 354.

Levy authorised
for his support.
    BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the justices of the levy court of Worcester county shall, and they
are hereby directed and empowered, at their levy court annually,
so long as they shall see cause, to levy on the assessable property
of said county, a sum of money not exceeding thirty dollars, nor
less than twenty dollars, for the support and maintenance of John
Pointer of said county; and the same when collected, shall be paid
by the collector of said county, to said John Pointer, or his order,
for the purpose aforesaid.

                                            CHAP. XI.
An Act to authorise and empower the Levy Court of Anne-Arundel
    County to assess and levy a sum of money for the support and maintenance
    of Keziah Hughes.

    BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the levy court of Anne-Arundel county be and they are hereby directed
and empowered, at their levy court annually, to assess and 
levy on the assessable property of said county, a sum of money
not exceeding twenty dollars, for the support and maintenance of
the said Keziah Hughes, and that the same be collected annually
by the collector or collectors of Anne-Arundel county, and paid to
the said Keziah Hughes, or her order.

                                            CHAP. XII.
A Further Additional Supplement to the act, entitled, An act for the
    relief of the Poor in the Counties of Dorchester and Somerset, passed
    in seventeen hundred and eighty-five*, and the several Supplements
    thereto, and to repeal the Acts of Assembly therein mentioned.

Trustees of poor
to be appointed by
levy court.
    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the office of the present trustees of the poor of Dorchester county,
shall cease and be at an end on the second Monday of June next,
and the appointment of the trustees of the poor of said county shall,
from and after the second Monday of May next, be vested in the
levy court of said county.

    2.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the levy court of Dorchester
county shall be, and they are hereby authorised and required, at
their first meeting in May next, and at their first meeting in the
month of May in each succeeding year thereafter, to appoint seven
discreet and proper persons, qualified agreeably to the provisions
of the original act and the supplements thereto, and of this act, to
be trustees of the poor of the said county from and after the second
Monday of June next.

    3.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That it shall be the duty of the clerk
of the said court, within five days after such appointment, and within
the like time after any future appointments to be made in virtue
of this act, to make out and deliver to the sheriff of said county,
a certificate of the appointment of each of the said trustees so appointed
or to be appointed, endorsing one of the said certificates
for each of them respectively, which said sheriff shall, within six
