            ROBERT BOWIE, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

of the peace for said county, on application of the party interested,
or his, her or their guardian or trustee, to issue his warrant, under
his hand and seal, directed to any constable of the county, commanding
him to summon twelve freeholders, uninterested in the
opening of the said road, to appear on a day by the said justice to
be appointed, on the land of the person or persons making application
as aforesaid, or for whose benefit such application shall be
made; and the said freeholders having first made oath before some
justice of the peace, that they will, without favour, affection or
partiality, assess the damages sustained by the person or persons at
whose request such inquisition shall be taken, by reason of opening
the aforesaid road through his, her or their land, shall thereupon
proceed to assess and value the damages accordingly, taking into
consideration the advantages and disadvantages, (if any,) of which
the said commissioners, or a majority of them, shall have at least
five days notice, and shall return the damages so assessed to the
said justice of the peace, and such inquisition and valuation shall 
be final and conclusive; Provided, that the said road shall not pass
through any house, yard, garden or orchard, without the consent
of the owner or owners thereof.

An Act for the relief of William Sherer, of Chester County, in the
    State of Pennsylvania.

    Authorising Catharine Mackey, and others, and the guardian of the minor children
of James Mackey, deceased, to execute a deed to the said William Sherer
for a lot of ground in Elkton.

A Supplement to the act, entitled, An act to make public a Road in
    Prince-George's County, passed at November session one thousand
    eight hundred and eight*.

    BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
road in Prince-George's county, known as the old direct and shortest
road from Piscataway to the Fort and Wharburton Fishing
Landing, and which forks out from the main north and south road
from Piscataway to Broad creek, at a short distance from Hatton's
Hill, until it intersects the public road leading from Warburton to
Slash creek, at the Warburton outer gate, be, and the same is hereby
declared, deemed and taken to be a public road for ever, and
shall hereafter be kept up and repaired as other public roads in said
county.

public.

                                       CHAP. LXVI.
An Act to regulate the breadth of a certain Road in Baltimore County.

    BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the road from Monkton Mills, in Baltimore county, to the York
turnpike road †, heretofore declared and made a public road, shall
be opened and kept open of the breadth of thirty feet, in the same
manner as other public roads of the said county.
Road shall be 30
feet wide.
