March 13th. 1690/1 ( 76 )
The said William Woodland being to live and enjoy the said land and premisses dureing the pleasure of the said
Lane, or till he should turne them off. And further this Deponent saith that the said Walter Lane in the presence
and
with the Consent of George Seaward, did take two Nigroes belonging to the said Estate of Josias:Seaward and named
Casar and Boston by the hands and did deliver them to her Husband to be with him as a Confirmation of ye
agreement
between them, but this Deponent not being satisfied therewith advised her Husband to take from under the hand of
mr
Lane, that they might be assured how long they should enjoy the said Land Nigroes &c. and thereupon spoke to mr Lane her
her Self, and desired that the agreement might be in black and white as she phrasd it Walter Lane made answer the times
were troublesome and unsetled, that he could not draw Conditions then; but calld his Brother John: Lane to wittness what
he had done, there was also an antient woman Named Ellinor Harris in presence togeather with George:Seaward who gave his
assent

to all Also this Deponent saith that her Husband being somewhat dissatisfied that he was to have but half of what
was
made. mr Lane made answer that he would make it to him otherwayes (or words to that Effect) this Deponent also
further saith that the sd Walter Lane did take into his posession and Carried away from the Plantation One Cedar
boat
Some tarr and some Ring bolts the quantity uncertain being the propper Estate of Josias Seaward and further
Saith not her
