ffebruary y 11th. 1690/1 ( 42 ) The Condition of the aforesd Recognizance is Such that if the said Thomas Oxford be of the good behaviour and abearance to all their Maties Liege people of this Province but more espetially to Sarah Saunders of this County dureing the Courts pleasure as also pay fines and Court Charges that then the said Recognizance to be void and of none effect, Otherwayes to be and remain in full power force and virtue . - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - To the worll. County. The Petion of Thomas Oxford humbly sheweth That whereas yor worps thought meet to Order my making public acknowledgment at the Town of Snow hill of my miscarriage which yr Petioner doth acknowledge to be most just from you, and far short and below the demerit of my sd Crimes, wch I your said Petioner am Scencible have been haniously aggrievated to my great shame and hope shall be to my Sorrow, as I have Offended God, and have been of evil Example to men, all which I own before yr worps promising by the asistance of Allmighty God) to amend and thorrowly to reform my said wicked Conversation I therefore humbly prostrate my Self before your worps, implorimg your favour and Clemency in Remitting my Said publick acknowledgmt at Snow hill Town as aforesd. And your Petionrs shall as in duty bound pray Petion above not granted Their Majesties Upon Complaint of Mr. Samuel: Hopkins agt for sundry misdeameanors done agt the sd Hopkins, as well Thomas: Oxford Contemning the sd warrant Issued pr Hopkins. all which was - - - - - - - - - proved in Open Court by the Oaths of Jno. Smock and Nathaniel: Vesey. The said Oxford Confessed the fact being heartily Sory beggd pardon of the Court and mr Hopkins which being considered was remitted/ Only Ordered to give Security for his good behaviour whereupon came the said Oxford and by Recognizance in Open Court did acknowledge himself to be indebted unto their Maties in the Sum of 30,. Sterling money of England due to be leavied upon his goods and Chatels Lands and tenements for their Maties uses &c. Like came the sd Oxfords two securities and did confess them Selve to be indebted as above in the Sum of 15,. a piece of like money to be leavied as aforesd Securities were Jno: Jones & Peter: Watson The Condition of which Recognizance is Such that if the above bound Thomas Oxford, be of the good behaviour and abearance to all theire Maties liege people of this Province, but more expetially to mr. Samuel: Hopkins Senior of this County dureing pleasure, as also pay all Court charges then the above sd Recognizance to be void and of none effect otherwayes to be and remain in full power force and vertue. - finis --- - - - - - - - - memorandum mr. Hopkins did not sit in judgmt in any of ye three tryals of Oxford. The humble Petion of John: Moore fferry man humbly sheweth that the said Arnold was indebted to the said John. in his life time the Sum above mentioned, your petioner humbly prayes your worps to grant an Order agt Stephen Page,who hath intermarried with the Extrx of the sd Arnold and as in duty bound shall pray &c. John + Moore The said John: More made Oath in Court his marke to the truth of the abovesd accompt ---} Ordr. granted agt Stephen Page for the same. |
