Nehemiah Covington.is Dr. The Court referred the matter to Richard Chambers and to 3.dayes worke done at mr Jones. 150 William: Noble to determine, who found due to the sd to worke done at Jno Covingtons. 120 Covington 1000 pounds of tobacco ball of all accotsC for knitting 2 pair of Stockins - - - 050 To which the sd Gary in Open Court Confest judgment. to worke done at mr Woolfords. - 1000 to a bushel of Corne. - - - - - - 25 Order granted for the same. 1345. Errors Excepted pr me Lawrence Gary who made Oath in Court that his accot was justly due - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - John: Tayler. Plt Somerset County Ss. mr. Thomas Newbold & mr Samuel: Hopkins Contra were Sumoned to answer unto John: Tayler in an action of the Case &c. Mr. Thomas: Newbold & And whereupon the plt in his own propper person Comes and Sayes that Mr. Samuel: Hopkins Dfts whereas Robert Slott being Servant to the plt. for one whole year - - - - - - - - - - - - - was by vertue of a Heugh and Cry from under the hands & Seals of the said Defts. Carryed away out of the plt Service, about ye nineteenth day of ffebruary last past by Anthony Bell the Constable, & by vertue there Of detained by John: Starrett. till about as forthnight after the said nineteenth of ffebruary by which unlawfull warrant or Hue & Cry the plt. Saith that he is damnified and hath losse to the value of two thousand pounds of tobacco and Caske and thereupon brings his Suite &c. John: Tayler. pr Quer. pledgs for. John: Doe Then was this following precept Read Rich: Roe Somerset County Ss Whereas Robert: Slott Servant to John: Starrett of the sd County hath unlawfully absented himself from his said Masters Service, ever Since Satterday before June Court last past, and entertained by some ill disposed persons in the said County Contrary to Law, which is & hath been prejudiciall apparently to ye sd John Starrett. These are therefore in their Maties Names to Command and require all and every their Maties good Subjects the Inhabitants of this County upon discovery made of the sd Robert Slott, his body to apprehend as a fugitive and him in Safe Custody to keep, and to Convey him from Constable to Constable, untill he be dilivered to his Said Master, fail not hereof at your perill, and for yr So doing this shall be yr Sufficient warrant given under Our hands and Seals this 16 th day of ffebry Annog Domini 90/91 Thomas: Newbold ?
