fifth of the passenger transportation on the .Washington
Branch Road: and to subject the property of sard Baltimore
and Ohio Rail Road Company to taxation, as other, property
is now taxed in this State.
Which was read.
Mr. Stewart submitted the following order, as a substitute
for the order, submitted by Mr. Streett:
Ordered, That the members of the House Select Commit-
tee be instructed to introduce a bill to authorize the Attor-
ney General to institute proceedings by sci. fa. to forfeit the
charter of the Baltimore and Ohio Bail Road, for stubbornly
resisting the authorities of the State, and for gross violence
of its privileges.
Which was read.
When,
On motion of Mr. Linthicum, the further consideration of
the whole subject was informally postponed.
The House then proceeded to the consideration of the next
order of the day, being the unfinished business of yesterday,
The bill, entitled an Act to create (t loan, to provide for the
completion and furnishing of the buildings fur the Maryland
Hospital, at Spring Grove, in Baltimore county.
Said bill being upon a third reading,
On motion of Mr. Stewart,
The further consideration thereof was informally postponed,
and the House proceeded to the consideration of the next
order of the day, being
The bill, entitled an Act to repeal sections 179 and 180, of
Article XXX., of the Code of Public General Lawa, relating
to ''Sabbath Breaking," and to re-enact the same with
amendments.
The question recurring upon the motion submitted by Mr.
Wilmer, on the 14th instant, to strike out toe enacting
clause of raid bill,
Mr. Travers demanded a call of the House,
Which was sustained.
Present at the call of the roll the following members :
Messrs: German, Speaker, Dunbar, Wilmer, Hurtt,
