"986 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 20,
one Grand Piano and extra cloth cover, furnished to the
Executive Mansion, in February, 1870,
Reported back the same unfavorably.
The question recurring upon the adoption of the unfavor-
able report of the Committee,
Mr. Turner, moved that the unfavorable report of the
Committee, be nonconcured in, and that the bill be substi-
tuted therefor.
Pending which,
Mr Stone demanded the previous question,
The question then being, '' shall the main question be
now put?"
It was sustained.
The question then recurring upon sustaining the motion,
submitted by Mr. Turner,
It was decided in the negative.
The question then recurring upon the adoption of the un-
favorable report of the Committee,
It was adopted, and said bill returned to the Senate.
Mr. Stone, Chairman of the Committee on Ways and.
"Means, reported unfavorably,
A bill entitled an Act to control and regulate the sale of
intoxicating liquors in this State.
The unfavorable report was adopted.
Also, unfavorably,
A bill entitled an Act to enable the qualified voters of
Election District No. 8, of Dorchester county, to determine,
by ballot, whether spirituous or fermented liquors shall be
sold in said district, or a license granted for the same.
The question recurring upon concurring in the unfavora-
ble report of the Committee,
Mr. Radcliffe moved that the unfavorable report be non-concurred in, and that the bill be substituted therefor.
The question being upon sustaining the motion,
Mr. Smith demanded the yeas and nays.
The demand being unstained, the yeas and nays were
called, and appeared as follows:
