Dennis, as Senator elect to the Congress of the United States, Which was read a first time. Also, Joint resolutions requesting the Governor to employ coun- sel to bring suit against the Baltimore Equitable Society, to recover the amount due by said society on an insurance policy issued by said society on one of the State tobacco warehouses in Baltimore City, Which were read a first time and referred to the Committee on Ways and Means. Also, returned, The bill entitled an Act to extend the jurisdiction of Jus- tices of the Peace for Baltimore county to cases of assault and battery. Endorsed, "Reported unfavorably from a Select Committee and report adopted." Also, returned the following bills severally endorsed passed by yeas and nays : The bill entitled an Act for the protection of the chancery records of Baltimore City. Also, The bill entitled an Act to repeal an Act entitled an Act to amend" Article XVI. of the Code of Public General Laws by adding (hereto the following section relating to injunc- tions, passed at a Special Session of the General Assembly held at Frederick, April the 26th, 1861, and to enact a sub- stitute therefor. Also, The bill entitled an Act for the better protection of par- tridges in Queen Anne's county. Also, The bill entitled an Act to amend and re-enact section 8 of Public Local Laws, passed February 16th, 1864, chapter 96, and the supplement thereto, section 3, chapter 27 of the Code of Public Local Laws, passed February 18th, 1868, en- titled an Act a supplement to an Act passed by the General Assembly of Maryland at January Session, 1864, chapter 96, entitled an Act to incorporate the Liberty and New Windsor Turnpike Company in Frederick and Carrol coun- ties. |
