Acts of 1879, entitled an Act to confirm an Act passed by the
General Assembly of Virginia, entitled an Act to incorporate
the Shenandoah Valley Railroad Company, &c.
On motion of Mr. Johnson,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means to
report a bill, to regulate the sale of intoxicating liquors in
'this State.
Mr. Cooper, acting Chairman of the Committee on the
Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries, to whom had been re-
ferred
The bill, entitled an Act to repeal sections 33 and 34, of
charter 364, of Acts passed January Session, 1870, entitled
'"Oysters," and to re-enact the following in lieu thereof,
changing the style of the Oyster Police Board, and making
Commissioner of the Land office one of said Board,
Reported back the same unfavorably,
The question recurring upon the adoption of the unfavor-
able report,
Mr. Stewart moved that the bill be substituted for the un-
favorable report of the Committee,
Pending which,
On motion of Mr. Cooper,
The further consideration thereof was postponed until to-
morrow, Tuesday, 19th inst.
Mr. dark, of Baltimore City, from the Committee on the
Judiciary, reported favorably,
A bill, entitled an Act to declare the sanction of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland, to the bequest of John Coates,
late of Baltimore City, deceased, to the Sabbath School at-
tached to the Methodist Protestant Church, at the corner of
Lombard and Green streets, in the City of Baltimore.
Which was read a first time.
Also,
A bill, entitled an Act to declare the sanction of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland, to the bequest of John Coates,
late of Baltimore City, deceased, to the Trustees of the
Methodist Protestant Church, corner of Lombard and Green
streets, in the City of Baltimore.
Which was read a first time.
Mr. Chapman, from a Select Committee, reported favor-
