MONDAY, March 18, of.
The House met,
And was, opened with prayer by the Rev. Mr. Highley,,
Chaplain.
Present at the call of the roll the following members;
Messrs. German, Speaker, Colton, of St. Mary's, Dunbar,
Hurtt, Wells, Duvall, Henkle, Chapman, Shipley, Turner,
Foard, ofB. Co., Litzinger, Spencer, Banks, Butler, Golds-borough, Roach, Waller, Smith, Badcliffe, Mearns, Pening-
ton, Scott, Franklin, Parker, Phillips, Riley, Baldwin,
Streett, Hardcastle, Deweese, McCosker, Hamilton, T. H.,
Cooper, Hamilton, O. B., Jamart, Staylor, Stewart, Trav-ers, Clark, of B. City, Colton, of B. City, Kirk, Chaisty,
Harig, Feig, Markland, Griswold, Young, of Wash., Hil-
ton, Riggs, Clark, of Mont., Porter, Coles, Young, of Alle.,
Robinette, Steele, Lamotte, L. A. J. Linthicum, Johnson,
LangreII—59.
The Speaker appointed the following Committee on the
extension of the City Limits of Baltimore:
Messrs. Markland, Turner, Foster, Banks, Kirk, Shipley
and Penington.
Mr. O. B. Hamilton presented resolutions of Maryland
Council, No. 28, O. of U. A. M., protesting against the re-
peal of the present Sunday Law.
Which were read and laid on the table.
Mr. Feig presented the petition of Winsel Kensley, and.
forty others, in favor of Civil Jurisdiction of Justices of the
Peace, to two hundred and fifty dollars.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.
Mr. Shipley presented the petition of D. Q. W. Bailey,;
R. H. Worthington and others, against the division of the
Second District of Baltimore County.
Which was read and referred to the Baltimore county
delegation.
Mr. Chaisty presented the petition of Christian Bitter,
asking for compensation for services rendered as bordering
officer for the Department of Labor and Agriculture of the
State of Maryland.
