adopted
And, the bill, as amended, read a second time and ordered
to be engrossed for a third reading. '*'
Mr. Miller submitted the following amendment :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 1, strike out all after the word (< Maryland" to the
word " office," inclusive, and insert: (( That the authorities
of the City of Baltimore pay."
Which was rejected.
The bill, as amended, was then read a second time and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.
On motion of Mr. Hurtt, (the rules being suspended,) the
House proceeded to the consideration of
The bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 13 of Article
LI., of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled Justices
of the Peace, sub-title " Civil Jurisdiction," and to re-enact
the same with amendments. '
