The bill, entitled an Act for the better protection of birds
in Frederick county.
Endorsed, '-'Passed by yeas and nays, with proposed
amendments."
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Strike out all after the enacting clause, and insert the fol-
lowing sections:
Section 1. That it shall be unlawful for any person, at any
time, to shoot, or otherwise to kill or injure, or pursue with.
such intent, any of the following named birds within the
limits of Frederick county, viz : Robins, bluebirds, thrushes,
martins, swallows, larks, orioles, redbirds, catbirds, spar-
rows, whippoorwils, wrens, peewits, gold finches, sapsuck-
" era, or woodpeckers ; Provided, that nothing contained in
this Act shall be so construed to prevent the killing or cap-
ture of crows, blackbirds or birds of prey. '
Section 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be unlawful for
any person, knowingly and unnecessarily to destroy or dis-
turb the eggs of any of the birds protected by the provisions
of this Act.
