Which was read.
Mr. Stone submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out the words "a Select Committee," and insert
the words, "the Committee on Ways and Means."
Which, was adopted, and the leave accordingly so referred.
On motion of Mr. Cooper,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to repeal section 191, Article IV., of the
Code of Public Local Laws, and substitute another in lieu
thereof.
On motion of Mr. Bond,
Leave was granted a Select Committee of three, consisting
of Messrs. Bond, Turner, and O. B, Hamilton, to introduce
a bill to repeal an Act passed at January Session, 1870,
chapter 411, entitled an Act to add additional sections to
Article LXLX.., of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Officers," regulating and prescribing the number and. compensation of officers of the Senate and House of Delegates,
and repealing the Acts inconsistent therewith.
Mr. Hardcastle, from the Committee on Corporations,
Reported favorably,
A bill, entitled an Act to incorporate the German Baptist
Church, of Baltimore City.
Which was read a first time.
Also, favorably,
A bill, entitled an Act to incorporate the Boundary and
Silver Spring Railway Company. ^
Which was read a first time.
Mr. Chapman, from the Committee on the Judiciary,
Reported favorably,
A bill, entitled an Act to amend Article LIII, of the Code
of Public General Laws, title "Landlord and Tenant," sub-
title "Tenant," holding over by adding thereto the follow-
ing sections, to come in after section 6 of said Article, regu-
lating the restitution of possession of houses or premises,
withheld by employees.
Which was read a first time.
Mr. Stewart, Chairman of the Committee on Militia,
Reported favorably,
