Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
that subject.
Mr, Penington presented the resolutions and petition of
five thousand citizens of Baltimore City, praying for a modi-
fication of the Sunday Law.
Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on.
that subject.
Mr. H. H. Lamotte presented the petition of George-
Everhart, and one hundred and eighty-five other citizens of
Manchester, Carrol county, asking the passage of a law to suppress all restaurants in Manchester, except hotels.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways.
and Means.
Mr. Deweese presented the petition of Elizabeth North,
asking for a pension.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
Mr. Penington submitted the following order:
Ordered, That Mr, Linthicum be excused from attendance
at this House until Friday next.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Miller submitted the following order:
Ordered, That it be entered upon the Journal that Mr.
Routzahn is absent from his seat on account of sickness in
his family. *
Which was adopted.
Mi. Porter submitted the following order:
Ordered, That the printed bill, No. 126, House file, for
reduction of charges for tolls and transportation on the Cum-
berland and Pennsylvania Railroad, and for other purposes,
be made the order of the day for Friday next, at 12 o'clock.
Which was read.
Mr. Jamart submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out " Friday " and insert the word lt Monday."
Which was rejected.
The question then recurring upon the adoption of the
order,
It was adopted.
And the bill therein named made the order of the day for
Friday, 15th inst., at 12 o'clock, noon.
