On motion of Mr. Kirk,
A call of the House was ordered.
Present at the call of the roll the following members :
Messrs. Col ton, of St. Mary's, Wilmer, Hurtt, Duvall,
Bond, Sparrow, Chapman, Shipley, Litzinger, Banks,
Waller, Vickers, Mearns, Penington, Scott, Eareckson, Ford,
of Queen Anne's, Franklin, Phillips, Rowe, Delaplane,
Miller, Riley, Baldwin, Hamilton, O. R., Foster, Staylor,
Stewart, Kirk, Young, of Washington, Newcomer, Whitson,
Riggs, dark, of Mont., Coles, Young, of Alle., Robi-
nette, Steele, Lamotte, H. H., Langrell—40.
Upon the call of the roll,
Mr. Steele moved that all further proceedings under the
call be dispensed with.
Decided in the affirmative.
0 motion of Mr. Foster,
The Sergeant-at-arms waa ordered to notify all the absent
members now in the city, to give their attendance, and bring
them before the Bar of the House.
After an absence of some time the Sergeant-at-arms returned and reported that he had notified all the absent mem-
bers now in the city, to give their attendance, and. had
brought them before the Bar of the House.
On motion of Mr. Streett,
All further proceedings under the call were dispensed with.
On motion of Mr. Miller,
The vote by which the bill, entitled an Act to continue in
force an Act passed at December Session, 1843, chapter 9,
entitled an Act to incorporate the German Union Benefi-
ciary Society of Cumberland,
Was rejected for want of a Constitutional majority,
Was reconsidered.
The bill was then passed by yeas and nays, as follows:
