The bill entitled an Act to continue in force an Act passed
at December Session 1843, chapter 9, entitled an Act to in-
corporate the German Union Beneficial Society of Cumber-
land,
Being upon a third reading,
Mr. Young, of Washington, (by unanimous consent} sub-
mitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
The bill, as amended, was then read a third the, and
rejected for want of a Constitutional majority, by yeas and
