Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
nons.
Mr. Miller presented the petition of Ernst A. O. Fox,
Thos. B. Mitchell and two hundred and twenty others, citi-
zens of Frederick City, asking for a law exempting the said.
city from county road tax.
Which was read and referred to the Frederick^delegation.
Mr. Smith presented the petition of E. 8. Griffith, and
other citizens, against the passage of an Act to permit scoop-
ing for oysters in the waters of Little Choptank River, in
Dorchester county.
Which was read and referred to the Dorchester delegation.
Mr. Travers preented the petition of Henry Cashmyer and
three thousand citizens of Baltimore, in favor of the passage
of the Immigration bill.
Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
that subject.
Mr. Newcomer presented the petition of Susan Miller and
Daniel-War vel, asking for pensions.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
Mr. Cooper presented the petition from W. H. Perot, J.
S. Jenken, R. R. Kirkland and George Von Linger, relating
to the Pilot Laws of this State.
Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
that subject.-
Mr. Whitsen submitted the following order:
Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Mr. Ar-
dinger is absent from bis seat on account of sickness.
Which was adopted,
Mr. Hardcastle submitted the following order :
Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Mr. Deweese is detained from his seat on account of sickness in his
family.
Which was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Liuthicum,
Leave was granted to Messrs. .Linthicum, German and
dark, of Montgomery, to introduce a bill, entitled an Act
to repeal section 6 of Article XIII. of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title "Howard County," sub-title "County
Commissioners," and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.
