Mr. Colton, of Baltimore City, Chairman of the Committee on Claims,
Reported favorably,
A bill, entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to
pay the claims of Nathan Masters, Henry Kyd Douglas,
James Hopkins, W. L. Pfeiffer, John Murphy & Co., King
Bros., John Sands, John U. and Zadock P. Henry, Anne
O. Ross, N. O. Neighbours, Elias Spaulding, and Isaac S.
Banner,
Which was read a first time.
Mr. Henkle, Chairman of the Committee on Education, to
whom was referred,
The report of the Board of State School Commissioners, re-
ported back the same, and asked that said report be printed.
The report was ordered to be printed.

Mr. Ford, of Queen Anne's, Chairman of the Committee on
Pensions, reported unfavorably,
A bill, entitled an Act to repeal an Act, entitled an Act
to repeal the Act of 1867, chapter 385, which provides for
paying pensions to the Maryland soldiers of the war of 1812,
and to the widows of deceased soldiers of that war, and also
to repeal the Act of 1868, chapter 432, providing pensions for
-certain soldiers and widows of soldiers of the war of 1812,
and to provide in lieu thereof for all allowing pensions to
certain soldiers and widows of soldiers of the war of 1812,
-and re-enact the same with amendment.
