Hill, and seventy-nine other citizens of Buckeystown District, praying the passage of a law prohibit- ing the manufacture and sale of liquor in said district. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Way and Means. Mr. Mearns presented the petition of eighteen residents of Cecil county, praying that the County Commissioners of said county be authorized to correct the assessment of George Simpson's real estate. Which was read and referred to the Cecil delegation. Mr. Shipley, presented the petition of John Rossmark and one hundred and forty others (or a modification of the Sun- day law. Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on that subject. Mr. Groome presented the petition of Alexander Evans and thirty-three other residents of Elkton, for a change in the Act incorporating said town. Also, The petition of Jacob Tome and fifty-six residents and pro- perty holders of Port Deposit, praying a law to allow the corporation of Port Deposit, in Cecil county, to borrow a sum of money to apply to public improvement in said town. Which were severally read and referred to the Committee* on Corporations. Mr. Wells presented the petition of Nathaniel Crutchley and Joseph Smith, soldiers of the war of 1812, asking for pen-sions. "Which, was read and referred to the Committee on Pensions. Mr. dark, of Mont. presented the petition of Wm. E. Shaw, E. K-. Springer, F. Valdenar and twenty-two other citizens of Montgomery county, praying the General Assembly to pass a law ratifying and confirming an Act passed January Ses- sion,'1870, authorizing the County Commissioners of Mont- gomery county, to subscribe to the capital stock of Turnpike Companies in said county. Which was read and referred to the Montgomery delega- tion. |
