Cotton, of St. Mary's, Wilmer, Hurtt, Wells, Duvall, Henkle, Bond., Sparrow, Chapman, Stone, Shipley, Ford, of Bait. county, Litzinger, Spencer, Bank?, Turner, Butler, Goldsborough, Roach, Waller, Dangherty, Smith, Vickers, Radcline, Groome, Mearns, Penington, Scott, Sasscer, Bowie, Eareckson, Ford, of Queen Anne's, Frank- lin, Parker, Phillips, Rowe, Delaplane, Miller, Routzahn, Riley, Baldwin, Streett, Hardcastle, Deweese, McOosker, Hamilton, T. H., Cooper, Hamilton, C. R., Jamsirt, Foster, Staylor, Stewart, Travers, Clark, of Bait. city, Golton, of Bait. city. Kirk, Chaisty, Harig, Feig, McColgan, Markland, Griswold, Young, of Wash. county, Ardinger, Newcomer, Whitson, Hilton, Riggs, dark, of Mont., Porter, Coles, Young, of Allegany, Robinette, Steele, Lamotte, L. A. J., Polk, Lamotte, H. H., Linthicum, Gorman, Johnson, Langrell—81. The Journal of yesterday was read. Mr. Smith moved that the House do now proceed to the flection of a Speaker by ballot. Decided in the affirmative. Mr. Chapman nominated the Hon. Arthur P. German, of Howard. Mr. Routzahn nominated Hon. G. E. Porter, ofAllegany. On motion of Mr. Kirk, The nominations were closed. On motion of Mr. Kirk, The Speaker appointed Mr. Kirk and Mr. Routzahn to act as-tellers. Upon the call of the roll it appeared that eighty-one mem- bers had voted. On counting the ballots it was ascertained that the Hon. Arthur P. Gorman had received 68 votes, and the Hon. G. E. Porter 11 votes, Two blank ballots being cast.
