Seventy-six members having answered to their names, the
Clerk announced that a quorum was present.
Mr. Griswold moved that for the purpose of a temporary
organization, the Hon. Frederick Stone, of Charles county,
be called to the Chair.
Decided in the affirmative.
The Speaker pro tern., having been conducted, to the Chair
by Mr. Griswold and Mr. Turner, delivered a brief address.
The Speaker directed the roll to be called, that the Clerk
might proceed to administer the oath of office to the forego-
ing named members.
Pending which, Mr. Smith moved that when this House
adjourn it stand adjourned until to-morrow at 12 o clock,,
noon.
Decided in the affirmative.
On motion of Mr. Smith,
At 12^ o'clock, P. M., the House adjourned.
