TUESDAY, February 20, 1872.
The Home met, and was opened with prayer by the
Rev. Mr. Highley, Chaplain.
Present at the call of the roll the following members :
Messrs. German, Speaker, Colton, of St. Mary's, Dunbar,
Hurtt, Wells, Duvall, Henkle, Bond, Chapman, Stone,
Shipley, Turner, Foard, of B. co., Litzinger, Spencer, But-
ler, Goldsborough, Roach, Waller, Dougherty, Smith, Tick-
ers, Groome, Mearns, Penington, Scott, Sasscer, Eareck-
son, Franklin, Parker, Phillips, Rowe, Delaplane, Miller,
Routzahn, Baldwin, Streett, Deweese, McCosker, Hamil-
ton, C. X., Jamart, Foster, Staylor, Stewart, Travers,
dark, of B, city, Colton, of B city, Kirk, Chaisty, Harig,
McColgan, Markland, Griswold, Young, of Wash. co., Ar-
dinger, Newcomer, Whitson, Hilton, Biggs, dark, of Mont.,
Porter, Coles, Young, of Alle., Robinette, Steele, Lamotte,
L. A. J., Polk, Johnson, Langrell—69.
The Speaker laid before the House the Report of the Bal-
timore and Harford Turnpike Company.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Roads
and Highways.
Mr. Mearns presented the petition of Eliza Garrett, widow
of John Garrett, to be pestered to the State pension rolls,
war of 1812, 60 years of age.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
Mr. Stone presented the petition of sundry citizens of
Charles county, praying for the passage of a dog law.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Agri-
culture.
Mr. Phillips presented the petition of B. F. Saylor, Samuel
Snyder, and others, of Woodsboro' District, protesting
against the passage of a law prohibiting or restricting the
sale of spirituous liquors in said district.
Also,
The petition of Joseph Shanks, A. A. Fleming and
others, of Woodsboro' District, protesting against the passage
of a law prohibiting or restricting the sale of spirituous li-qours said district.
