The Sergeant at Arms returned, and. reported that he had
notified all the absent members in the city to give their at-
tendance, and had brought them before the bar of the House.
On motion of Mr. Chapman,
All further proceedings under the call were dispensed with.
The following Acts hiving passed both branches of the-
General Assembly, were this day submitted to his Excellency
the Governor, for his approval:
An Act to authorize and empower the County Conmis-sioners for Carroll county to subscribe to the capital stock
of turnpike companies in Carroll county.
Also,
An Act authorizing James U. Dennis, guardian of Lewis;
E. P. Bowland, a minor, to pass his final account with the
Orphans' Court of Somerset county.
Also,
An Act giving the sanction of the General Assembly of
Maryland, to a certain legacy bequeathed by the last will and
testament of Elizabeth Routzahn, late of Frederick county,
deceased, to the Council of the Evangelical Lutheran Churchy
in Middletown, Frederick county, Maryland.
Also,
An Act supplementary to an Act passed February 17th,
1847, chapter LXVIII, entitled an Act to incorporate the
Trustees of Buckingham Academy and Berlin Female Semi-
nary.
Also,
An Act to make valid the sale and transfer, by the Union
Bridge Turnpike Company, to the Liberty, Johnsville and
Pipe Creek Turnpike Road Company, of all that part of the
road of said Union Bridge Turnpike Company from Union
Bridge, Carroll county, Maryland, to Daniel Wolf's, in
Frederick county, and to vest the franchises of said Union
Bridge Turnpike Company, or said part of said turnpike
road, in the Liberty, Johnsville and Pipe Creek Turnpike
Road Company.
Also,
An Act to confirm the bequest of Rev. James Dolan, de-
ceased, _to the Young Catholics' Friend Society, of the City
of Baltimore, for the purpose of establishing a Children's Aid
Society.
