the Code of Public Local Laws, relating to election districts
of Allegany county.
On motion of Mr. Markland,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means
to introduce a bill, to amend the Act of January Session,
1852, chapter 328, entitled an Act relating to tolls to be
charged by the Balto. and Ohio Railroad Co., on the Wash-
ington Branch of said road, by providing that the said Bal-
timore and Ohio Railroad. Company shall, upon the com-
pliance of said Company, and other parties in trust, with
certain conditions set forth in this Act, be no longer bound
to account for and pay into the State Treasury the propor-
tion of the passage money received for the transportation of
passengers traveling between Baltimore and Washington,
heretofore claimed. by the State, and to re-enact the said Act
as so amended.
On motion, of Mr. Groome,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill", incorporating the Elkton and Middletown
Railroad.
On motion of Mr. Hurtt,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Chesapeake
Bay and its Tributaries, to introduce a joint bill for Kent
and Queen Anne's counties in reference to the catching of
oysters in Chester river.
On motion of Mr. Groome,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill incorporating Cecil Lodge, Ho. 31, Knights
of Pythias, of Port Deposit.
The Secretary of the Senate returned
The bill, entitled an Act to add a new Article to the Code
of Public General Laws, relating to the inspection of to-
bacco,
Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays, with proposed
Amendments."
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
1. Section 7, at the end of line 12, after the word "an-
num," insert. The said supervisor shall give the same "bond
that is now required of other tobacco inspectors by the laws
of this State.
2. Amend, by adding at the end of section 13 : Whenever
hogshead of tobacco is re-drawn or reviewed, the sample
and label thereon of the original inspection shall be returned.
