The bill, entitled an Act amendatory of an Act passed at
January Session, 1864, chapter 381, entitled an Act to in-
corporate the Merchants' and Mechanics' Fire Insurance-Company, of Baltimore.
Said bill being upon a second reading,
On motion of Mr. Kirk,
The further consideration thereof was postponed, and the-
bill made the order of the day for Thursday, 15th inst., at.
1 o'clock, P. M.
On motion of Mr. Kirk,
The vote by which the further consideration of said bill
was postponed and made the order of the day for Thursday,
15th inst.,
Was reconsidered.
The bill was then read a second time and ordered to be en-
grossed for a third reading.
The bill, entitled an Act to extend the jurisdiction of Jus-
tices of the Peace for Baltimore county, to cases of assault;
and battery,
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
The bill, entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact section 24
of Article XCIV. of Public General Laws, title "Treas-
urer,"
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
The bill, entitled an Act to incorporate the Lubricating
Oar Axle Company, of Baltimore,
Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.
On motion of Mr. Goldsborongh, (the rules being sus-
pended), the House proceeded to the consideration of
The bill, entitled an Act to appoint a Commissioner of
Immigration to protect, the interest of Labor and Agricul-
ture in the State of Maryland ; also, receive and provide for
all immigrants arriving at the Port of Baltimore, in the-
State of Mar} land,
Said bill being upon a second reading,
On motion of Mr. Goldsborough,
The further consideration thereof was postponed, and the
bill, with amendments,
