860 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 9,
A bill, entitled an Act to repeal the one hundred and
seventy-first section of Article XCIII., of the Code of Public
General Laws, relating to the investment by guardians of
the proceeds of sale of real estate belonging to their wards
and sold by a trustee in equity, and to enact the same as
follows.
Which was read a first time, and referred to the Committee
on the Judiciary.
Also)
A bill, entitled an Act to pay Somerville Boilers, Clerk of
the Circuit Court for Calvert county, for fees due him by the
State ; also for compensation for services rendered by him at
the instance of the Comptroller of' the Treasury, and for
commissions on certain money paid by him into the Treasury,
Which was read a first time, and referred to the Commit-
tee on Claims.
Also, returned the following House bills, severally en-
dorsed, " Passed by yeas and nays :"
The bill, en titled an Act granting the assent of the General
Assembly of Maryland to a bequest made in the last will and.
testament of Elijah Bishop, late of Harford county, deceased,
to William F. Brand, as trustee, directing him to expend
part of said bequest in the completion or adornment of St.
Mary's Church, (Protestant Episcopal,) in Harford county.
Also,
The bill, entitled an Act giving the sanction of the General
Assembly of' Maryland to a certain legacy bequeathed by the
last will and testament of Elizabeth Routzahn, late of Fred-
erick county, deceased, to the Council of the Evangelical
Lutheran Church in Middletown, in Frederick county, Mary-
land.
Also,
The bill, entitled an Act to confirm the bequest of Rev. Jas.
Dolan, deceased, to the Young Catholic Friends' Society of{1
the City of of Baltimore for the purpose of establishing a
: Children's Aid Society.
Also,
The bill, entitled an Act to make valid the sale and trans-
fer by the Union Bridge Turnpike Company to the Liberty,
Johnsville and Pipe Creek Turnpike Road Company, of all
that part of the road of said Union Bridge Turnpike Com-
pany,- from Union Bridge, Carroll county, Maryland, to
Daniel Wolfs, in Frederick county, and to vest. the fran-
