JOINT RESOLUTIONS.
No. 6.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
His Excellency, the Governor, be and he is hereby
requested to issue a commission in the usual form to
the Honorable George R. Dennis, as Senator elect
to represent this State in the Congress of the United
States, for the term of six years, from the fourth day
of March, eighteen hundred and seventy-three.

Resolved by the General Assembly.; / of Maryland, That
our Senators and Representatives in the Congress of
the United States be requested to use their efforts to
procure the passage of a law authorizing the em-
ployment of an engineer to ascertain, the cost and
practicability of cutting an inlet or channel from the
Atlantic Ocean into the waters of Synepuxent Bay,
through the beach opposite the coast of Worcester
county, in the interest of the commerce of the county,
and for the purpose of affording a secure and conve-
nient harbor for our shipping, and a place of refuge
from the storms, by which great numbers of vessels
are stranded on our coast.
Resolved, That the Governor be and is hereby re-
quested to furnish a copy of the preceding resolution
to each of our Senators and Representatives in Con-
gress.
