introduce a bill to repeal section 18 of the Code of Public
General Laws, title "Attorneys," sub-title "State's Attor-
neys," and re-enact the same, with amendments.
B. H. Hanson, Jr., J. R. Wilson, and S. H. Patterson,
officers-elect, appeared, qualified, and entered upon the dis-
charge of their respective duties.
Mr. Markland (the rules being suspended) submitted the
following:
Ordered, That when this House adjourn it stand ad-'
journed until to-morrow morning, at 11 o'clock.
Which was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Markland,
At 2 o'clock, P. M., the House adjourned.
WEDNESDAY, January 10, 1872.
The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.

A. J., Polk, Lamotte, H. H., Linthicum, Johnson, Lan-
grell—79.
The Journal of yesterday was read.
Mr. Streett presented the petition of Cheney Hoskins and
forty-eight other citizens of Harford and Baltimore Coun-
