LAWS OF MARYLAND.
SEC. 3. Be it enacted. That tins Act shall not take
effect unless the provisions of the same are duly
accepted at a general meeting of the stockholders of
the said company, called in pursuance of due notice;
but upon the acceptance of the provisions of this
Act at such. meeting, this Act shall go into full and
immediate effect.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the Legislature re-
serves to itself the right to amend or repeal this Act
at pleasure.

AN ACT to incorporate the Mechanics' Saving's
Bank of Baltimore. . ' i
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That II. F. Pinkney, G. II. Stickney, M.
G. Cohn, William H. Dawson, James McColgan,
Benjamin F. Bennett, John B. Oldershaw, John
Ahern, Charles E. Savage, Uriah A. Pollock, E. D.
McConkey, Summerfield Baldwin, and all and every
other person or persons hereafter becoming members
of the corporation hereby created, in the manner
hereafter mentioned, shall be and are hereby created
and made a corporation and body politic by the
name and style of " The Mechanics' Savings Bank,"
and by that name shall have perpetual succession,
and '1! capable in law, by its corporate name, to pur-
chase, improve, lease, hold and dispose of property,
real, personal and mixed, to borrow and lend money,
and to make advances upon lands and buildings, and
to give and receive security for loans made to or by
said corporation; to sue and- be sued, plead and be
impleaded, answer and defend and be answered and
defended in courts of law and equity, or in any other
place whatever, and to receive and make all deeds,
transfers, covenants, contracts, conveyances and
