provements in said county which shall, in the
opinion of said Street Commissioners, be benefited
by the opening or grading of said street, avenue,
square or alley; and within twenty days after ma-
king such assessment shall report the same, with all
necessary and proper plats and explanations, to the
County Commissioners of Baltimore county, who
shall thereupon, after giving the notice required by
section two of tins Act, proceed to ratify and con-
firm the same, unless written objections thereto
shall have been filed within the time limited in such
notice; and if such objections have been duly filed
the said Comity Commissioners shall proceed, as soon
as convenience permits, to hear and determine the
same, of which hearing the parties interested shall
have notice; and may confirm, alter, reverse or
amend such assessment or award of damages and
benefits as equity and fairness may require, subject
to appeal; and when such assessment or award of
damages and benefits shall have been finally ratified
and confirmed, the award, it' for damages, shall be
paid by the Comity Commissioners to the parties en-
titled to receive the same within ninety days after the
final confirmation of such award; and, if for 1 one-
fits, shall be considered as a tax upon the property
assessed, and shall be paid to the County Commis-
sioners within sixty days after final confirmation of
such award and assessment, and in default of such
payment shall be collected as other taxes are col-
lected in Baltimore comity.
SEC. 2. And be if enacted, That all Acts and parts
of Acts inconsistent herewith, be and the same are
hereby repealed.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
