LAWS OF MARYLAND.
SEC 135 He shall be entitled to forty-five cents
per day for boarding each prisoner confined in said
jail.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage, and continue in
force for two years.

CHAPTER 341.
AX ACT for the better protection of Birds in Car-
roll county.
SECTION 1. Be it unnoted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall not be lawful for any person
or persons in Carroll county to shoot, kill, or in any
way trap or destroy any bine birds, swallows, martins,
robins, cat-birds, woodpeckers, sparrows, wrens, whippoorwill, doves, or any other insectivorous birds, at
any season of the year, under the penalty of two
dollars for each bird so killed, taken or destroyed;
provided, however, that nothing in this Act shall be
construed as to prevent any person from killing the
birds mentioned herein when found upon his, her
or their own premises.
SEC. 2. And be. it enacted, That no person shall at
any time during the year wilfully destroy the eggs
or nests of any such birds as are named in this Act,
within this county, under the penalty of two dollars
for each and every offence.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That the possession by
any person within the county of any of the birds
mentioned in this Act as shot, trapped, killed or
otherwise destroyed, shall be prima fade evidence to
convict under this Act.
SEC. 4. And. he it enacted. That any person offend-
ing against any of the provisions of this Act, and
