CHAPTER 315.
AN ACT to authorize the Governor to appoint three
additional Justices of the Peace for Baltimore
county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Governor be and he is hereby
authorized and empowered to appoint one additional
Justice of the Peace for election district number
one; one additional Justice of the Peace for election
district number three; and one additional Justice of
the Peace for election district number four, in Balti-
more county.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take
-effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 316,
AN ACT to add an additional section to article five
of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Ap-
peals."
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the following additional section shall
be added to article five of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws, entitled "Appeals: "
SEC. 2. In all trials upon any indictment or pre-
sentment in any court of this State having criminal
jurisdiction, it shall be lawful for any party ac-
cused, or for the State's Attorney, in behalf of the
State of Maryland, to except to any ruling or deter-
mination of the court, and to tender to the court a
bill of exceptions, which shall be signed and sealed
by the court, as is now practiced within this State in
civil cases; and the party tendering such bill of ex-
ceptions, may appeal from such ruling or determina-
