forty-eight, forty-nine, fifty, fifty-five and fifty-six of
said article sixteen, of the Code of Public Local
Laws, entitled " Prince George's county," under-
head of collectors.
SEC. 44. Be it enacted, That the Treasurer of
Prince George's county shall be the collector of all
State and county taxes for Prince George's county,
that may be levied by the Comity Commissioners of
said county; that he shall have full power and
authority to receive and collect all State and county
taxes levied as aforesaid, with all power to enforce
the payment of same, and to convey title to any real
or personal estate sold by him for the payment of
State or county taxes; the real estate sold by him
shall always be reported to the Judge or Judges of
the Circuit Court-tor Prince George's county, for
ratification, and if it shall appear that the said Treas-
urer has complied with the requirement of this Act
and the existing Laws of the State of Maryland, not
inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, it shall
be the duty of the said court to ratify the same, and
if not redeemed within the time prescribed by exist-
ing law, the said Treasurer shall convey the same in
fee simple to the purchaser thereof; the said Treas-
urer shall be required to report monthly to the
County Commissioners the amount collected by him;
and on the first day of July succeeding the date of
the levy for each current year, and not before (ex-
cept to persons who owe county taxes, and have a
levy standing on the books of the County Commis-
sioners in their own name, or as assignee, and then
only to the amount of the county taxes due by them
respectively,) the said commissioners may draw upon
the said Treasurer, pro-rata, to all who shall present
such certificates within ten days after the first of each
and every month, for the amount that may then ap-
pear to be in his hands, and continue so to draw as
they may find funds in the hands of said Treasurer,
until they have discharged all the indebtedness due
and owing by Prince George's [George's] county,
for which the said levy or assessment was made; it
is hereby declared to be the intention and meaning
of this Act, that the County Commissioners shall,
when requested., issue county certificates of indebted-
