to supply the furniture for the same, shall present
their proposals in sealed envelopes, to be deposited
with said County Commissioners or their clerk,
which proposal shall set forth the amount of money
for which he or they propose to do the work or sup-
ply the furniture; and good and sufficient security
shall be taken Toy the said County Commissioners
from the party or parties contracting to erect said
building and offices, and from the party or parties
contracting to furnish the same, in the name of the
County Commissioners for Washington county, as a
security for the faithful performance of such con-
tract or contractor that may be entered into, and that
the contract or contracts for building the said court
house and offices, and furnishing the same, shall be
awarded to the lowest responsible bidder; and the
said County Commissioners are hereby authorized
to sell and dispose of such material of the court
house destroyed by fire as may not be required or
used. in erecting the building aforesaid, and the pro-
ceeds arising therefrom shall be a part of the court
house fund, and appropriated to the building of the
said court house.
SEC. 7. And he it (enacted, That said building shall
be completed on or before July or August first,
eighteen hundred and. seventy-three, at which time
the said County Commissioners shall make a full,
clear and explicit statement of the number and
amount of bonds sold as aforesaid, give a full and
detailed statement of the cost of said court house and
furniture, the name of every person to whom money
was paid in erecting said building and supplying
furniture for the same, and publish the said state-
ment for one week in the usual way of publishing
public matter in Washington county.
SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That tins Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
