LAWS OF MARYLAND.
CHAPTER 260.
AN ACT to repeal section thirty-eight of the Code
of Public Local Laws, title " Prince George's
County," sub-title " Bladensburg," and to enact
in lieu thereof the following section:
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section thirty-eight of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title " Prince George's County,"
sub-title "Bladensburg," passed by the General As-
sembly and approved March thirtieth, eighteen hun-
dred and sixty-eight, be and the same is hereby re-
pealed, and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
SEC. 38. And he if enacted. That the County Com-
missioners of Prince George's county shall, at their
first meeting in the month of April next, and an-
nually thereafter, appoint five commissioners for the
village of Bladensburg, who shall be substantial citi-
zens, residents within said corporate limits for at,
least two years next preceding their appointment,
and continue to reside therein during their- continu-
ance in office, to serve for one year from the date of
their appointment, and until their successors are ap-
pointed and qualified; and said commissioners so ap-
pointed shall appoint a bailiff or collector, whose
duty it shall be to collect all taxes; and if any
citizen, from whom taxes are dire within said cor-
porate limits, shall fail or refuse to pay the same on
or before the first day of June succeeding such as-
sessment, such. taxes may be collected by way of
distress as between landlord and tenant, and the
same fees allowed as in the case of such remedy by
distress.
SEC. 2. And be It enacted, That all laws inconsis-
tent with this Act be and tire same are hereby re-
pealed.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
