ment hereinbefore specified; and such release and
exemption shall have full force and validity to pre-
vent the enforcement of any and all such tax, or as-
sessment against the said real estate, in the hands of
the heir, devisee or alienee of such tax-payer forever
thereafter, and the faith of Calvert county is hereby
pledged for the inviolate maintenance and enforce-
ment of such release and exemption; and such bonds,
so transferred to, and deposited with the said County
'Commissioners, shall be forthwith cancelled and de-
stroyed by them, after first entering upon the books
of the said County Commissioners the amount of such
bonds, the date of such transfer and deposit, and the
name of such tax-payer making the same; provided,
that no bonds shall be so received by the said County
Commissioners, unless the coupons thereof, not due
at the time of such transfer and deposit, shall re-
main attached to such bonds respectively.
SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That this Act shall be
submitted to a vote of the legal and qualified voters
of said county, at an election to be held on the fourth
Monday in April next, at the usual places of voting
in the said county, and in the mode and manner
-that other elections are held under the laws of this
State, at which said election each person, whose
name appears upon the registry list of qualified
voters as made out for the last election held in this
State, shall be entitled to vote; and the Sheriff of
the county shall furnish to the Judges of Election
copies of the said registry list, and shall give notice
of the said election in the manner prescribed for
other elections held by law, and at the said election
there shall be inscribed on the ballots the words
"For Railroad Subscription," or the words "Against
Railroad Subscription," respectively; and if any bal-
lot shall not contain the said words, respectively, the
same shall not he counted, and the Judges of Elec-
tion shall make returns to the Clerk of the Circuit
Court of the said county of the number of votes cast
"For Railroad Subscription" and the number of
votes cast "Against Railroad Subscription;" and
the said Clerk shall, by proclamation published in
the newspaper or newspapers, published in said
county, announce the result of said election, and
