of the Methodist Episcopal Church South: and all
elections of Trustees hereafter shall be according to
the discipline of the Methodist Episcopal Church
South.
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 232.
A.N ACT to repeal sections eleven and twelve of
article seven, Code of Public Local Laws, relating
to the appointment of the Clerk to the County
Commissioners of Carroll County, and to re-enact
the same with amendments.
SECTION 1. -Be it exacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That sections eleven and twelve of article
seven, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title Car-
roll County, relating to the appointment of the Clerk
to the County Commissioners of Carroll county, be
and the same are hereby repealed, and re-enacted so
as to read as follows:
SEC. 11. The legal voters of Carroll county shall,
at each general election to be hereafter held in said
county, elect by ballot a Treasurer for said county,
who shall also be Clerk to the County Commission-
ers, and the said County Commissioners are hereby
authorized and directed, as soon as may be conveni-
ent after the passage of this Act, to appoint some
suitable person Treasurer for said county, who shall
also be the Clerk to the County Commissioners, and
shall hold his office until the next general election
to be held in said county, and his successor shall
have qualified. The said Treasurer shall, before he
enters upon the duties of his office, take an oath in
due form of law, to well and. faithfully perform the
