CHAPTER 195.
AN ACT to pay John C. Henry, late first officer of
the Steamer Leila, of the " Oyster Police Force," a
sum of money.
SECTION 1. Be It enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Treasurer shall, upon the warrant
of the Comptroller, pay to the order of John C. Henry,
late first officer of the Steamer Leila, of the " Oyster
Police Force," the sum of twenty-nine dollars, balance
due on salary as officer in said " Oyster Police Force."
SEC. 2. And be It enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 196.
AN ACT to authorize the Comptroller of the Treas-
ury, to adjust and settle the accounts due by
collectors, sheriff's, clerks, registers and other re-
ceivers of public moneys, in cases where the in-
debtedness accrued prior to and including the year
eighteen hundred and sixty-nine.
SECTION 1. Be if enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be
and he is hereby authorized and empowered, to adjust
and settle the claims of the State against all collectors,
sheriffs, clerks, registers and other collectors or
receivers of public moneys, and their securities
in all cases where the said claims accrued prior
to and including the year eighteen hundred and
sixty-nine, and whether said claims be now in the
form of judgments or otherwise, and for the purpose
of closing all such cases the Comptroller is hereby
fully authorized to compromise the same, by abating
the interest that has accrued, or any portion thereof,
