to five P. M., to register the qualified voters of the
town.
SEC. 33. And be if. enacted, That it shall not be law-
ful for the keeper of any hotel, tavern, store, drink-
ing establishment, or any other place where liquors
are sold, or for any person or persons, directly or in-
directly, to sell, barter or give, or dispense, of any
spirituous or fermented liquors, ale or beer, or in-
toxicating drink of any kind, on the day of any elec-
tion to be held in said town. Any person violating
the provisions of this section shall, upon conviction
before a Justice of the Peace of said town, be fined
a sum hot less than fifty dollars nor more than one
hundred dollars for each and every offence, said fines
to goto the Town Commissioners for town expenses.
SEC. 34. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 152.
AN ACT to amend the Act of March session, eigh-
teen hundred and sixty-five, chapter one hundred
and forty-seven, entitled " an Act to incorporate
the Empire Coal Company of Allegany county,"
by adding thereto certain additional sections, and
providing for an increase of the number of the
directors of the said company and of its capital
stock, and for the appointment of a Vice President
to said company.
SECTION 1.. Be it enacted by the. General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Act of March session, eighteen
hundred and sixty-five, chapter one hundred and
forty-seven, entitled " an Act to incorporate the
Empire Coal Company of Allegany county," be and
