LAWS OF MARYLAND.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the corporate franchises granted In'
the said Act of Assembly, entitled an Act to Incor-
porate the Maryland State Bible Society, passed at
December session, eighteen hundred and forty-two,
chapter two hundred and ninety, be and the same
are hereby continued and re-enacted, without any
limitation as to the duration of said corporation,
subject to the provisions of this Act.
SEC. 2. And be if enacted, That the name of said
corporation be and is hereby changed from that of
"The Maryland State Bible Society" to that of
" The Maryland Bible Society," and that the said
corporation shall hereafter be known as "The Maryland
Bible Society," and by that name shall have and suc-
ceed to all the rights, privileges, powers, property and
franchises, and be subject to all the debts, engage-
ments, contracts and liabilities which it enjoyed and to
which it was subject under the name of " The Mary-
land State Bible Society."
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the proviso con-
tained in the second section of said Act be and it is
hereby amended so as to read thus: Provided, that
the clear annual income of such estate, interest and
property shall not exceed the sum of ten thousand
dollars, and that all suits in favor of or against this
corporation shall be conducted in the name of the
President of " The Maryland Bible Society."
SEC. 4. And be if enacted. That the Legislature re-
serves to its the right to alter, amend or repeal this
Act, as well as said original Act of incorporation, at
any time.
SEC. 5. And be it enacted. That tins Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
