121. The said commissioners may make all such
by-laws and ordinances, not contrary to law, as they
may deem expedient for the comfort, health, con-
venience and prosperity of the town and its inhab-
itants, for the prevention or removal of nuisances,
preservation of health, and suppression of vice and
immorality within the town, and may build a town
watch house, and they may impose such reasonable
fines, forfeitures or imprisonment in the said watch
house, as to them may appear necessary, for the
violation of any ordinance of said town, and they
shall have power to require a license for circuses,
menageries, theatrical exhibitions, exhibited in said
town.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 147.
AN ACT to authorize the Judges of the Circuit
Court for Harford county to appoint some suitable
person to record certain Chancery cases decided in
said court, involving titles of land which have not
been heretofore recorded, and to authorize the
County Commissioners of said county to provide
compensation therefor.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Judges of the Circuit Court for
Harford county, or a majority of them, be and they
are hereby authorized and empowered to appoint
some suitable person whose duty it shall be to record
the proceedings in all such cases in the Circuit Court
for Harford county, as a Court of Chancery, in which
the title to land is involved, as are now required by
law to be recorded, or which the Judges of said
