.county for two successive weeks; and it shall fur-
ther be the duty of the directors, on the first day of
July and on the first day of January in each and
every year, to declare a dividend of the profits of
said institution for the preceding six months, deduct-
ing expenses, and pay over such dividends to the
depositors or stockholders of weekly deposits within
ten days after declaring such dividends.

CHAPTER 146.
AN ACT to repeal sections one hundred and seven-
teen, and one hundred and twenty-one, of the first
article, of the Code of Public Local Laws, of Alle-
gany county, relating to the town of Oakland in
said county, and to substitute in lieu of section
one hundred and seventeen, and one hundred and
twenty-one, the following:
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That sections one hundred and seventeen,
and one hundred and twenty-one, of the first article of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany county, re-lating to the town of Oakland in said county, be and the
same are hereby repealed, and that the following be
substituted for sections one hundred and seventeen,
and one hundred and twenty-one:
117. The said commissioners may levy, and collect
taxes in said town not exceeding in any one year
thirty-five cents in the one hundred dollars, on the
assessable property of said town, and for the purpose
of making said levy they shall, once in every three
years, or oftener if they think proper, appoint an
assessor, who shall, under oath, value, appraise and
assess the property in said town,
