CHAPTER 139.
AN ACT to repeal sections one hundred and seventy,
one hundred and seventy-one, and one hundred
and seventy-two, of article first of the Code of
Public Local Laws, under the head of Allegany
county, relating to "Weights and Measures," and
to re-enact the same with amendments.
SECTION 1. -Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Man/land, That sections one hundred and seventy,
one hundred and seventy-one and one hundred and
seventy-two, of article first of the Code of Public
Local Laws, under the head of Allegany county, re-
lating to " Weights and Measures," be repealed and
re-enacted so as to read as follows:
170. The standard of weights and measures of
Allegany county shall be in the custody of the
County Commissioners, who shall either place them
in charge of their clerk or of a keeper by them
annually appointed.
171. If the clerk has charge of said standard he
shall, on application at his office, try, correct, brand,
make and stamp weights and measures thereby, and
shall receive ten cents for each weight, measure or
scale beam adjusted, to be paid by the person making
application.
172. If a keeper be appointed lie shall perform
such duties as are required by law of such officers,
or so much thereof as the County Commissioners
shall deem necessary, and he shall be entitled to such
compensation as they may establish, and shall give
bond in the penalty of three hundred dollars for the
safe keeping of such standard and the performance
of the duties of his office.
