276 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 6, Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to introduce a bill to amend the Act of 1864, chapter 381, incorporating the Merchants and Mechanics' Fire Insurance Company of Baltimore. On motion of Mr. Stone, At 2 3/4 o'clock, P. M., the House adjourned. TUESDAY, February 6, 1873. The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Chap- lain. Mr. Hurtt presented the petition of Jacob Sutton and thirty-three other citizens of the State of Maryland, praying for the passage of a law to enable the qualified voters of any ward or district in this State to determine, by ballot, whether drinking houses may or may not be licensed in such districts, under existing law, etc. Which was read and referred to the Committee on "Ways and Means- Also, presented. The petition of Solomon Scott, praying for a pension. "Which was read and referred, to the Committee on Pen- sions. |
