CHAPTER 118. .
AN ACT supplementary to an Act passed at Janu-
ary session, eighteen hundred and seventy, chap-
ter two, restricting the power of the County Com-
missioners of Frederick county, in issuing the
bonds of the county in aid of Turnpike companies.
SECTION 1. -Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Man/land, That the County Commissioners of Fred-
erick county shall not be authorized to issue any
bonds or credit of the county, or subscribe to any
turnpike company, as authorized by the Act of
eighteen hundred and seventy, chapter two, until
the Board of Stockholders of said company shall first
have filed a statement under oath, in the office of the
? aid Commissioners, that the total amount of three- [fifths, subscribed for by private stockholders as pro-
vided by the Act of eighteen hundred seventy, chap-
ter two, has been fully and entirely paid up.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That tins Act shall take
affect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 119.
AN ACT to amend the Charter of the Union Rail-
road Company of Baltimore, and to give additional
powers to said company.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the President and Directors of the
Union Railroad Company of Baltimore, or a majority
of them, be and they are hereby authorized and em-
powered, from time to time, to increase the capital
stock of said company by an amount not exceeding,
in the aggregate, the sum of six hundred thousand
dollars, and to make the whole or any part of such
