SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That all the officers
named and referred to in tins Act shall and they are
hereby required to make fair tables of their respec-
tive fees, as specified, limited and appointed by the
thirty-eighth article of the Code of Public Genera!
Laws, and to post up and keep posted up the same,
in their respective offices, in some conspicuous and
convenient part thereof, for the inspection of all per-
sons who shall have business in said offices; and it'
any of said officers shall neglect to keep posted up a
table of the fees of his office as aforesaid, such officer
shall be liable to a fine of ten dollars for each and
every week he neglects or refuses to comply with the
provisions of this section, after tire expiration of
three months from the date of the passage of this
Act, to be collected in the same manner as other
fines are collectable.
SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That if any of said offi-
cers, namely: the Clerk of the Circuit Court of
Harford county, the Sheriff, the Register of Wills
or the State's Attorney of said county, shall know-
ingly demand or receive for any service or duty a
fee not allowed by law, or a greater fee than is
allowed by law, or shall demand or receive a fee for
services or duty before the same shall be actually
performed, such officer so offending shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall, on conviction
Thereof, be fined a sum not less than fifty dollars and
not more than one hundred dollars, to be recovered
with costs by indictment in the Circuit Court for
Harford county, and the office of such officer shall
be declared vacant, and the vacancy be filled accord-
ing to the requirements of law; and it shall be the
duty of the Judge or Judges of the said Circuit
Court to give this Act in charge to the Grand Jury
at each term of said court to which a Grand Jury is
summoned.
SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take
effect and be in force from the date of its passage;
and all laws or parts of law s inconsistent therewith
are hereby repealed.
