verdict, it shall be confirmed by said court at the
next term succeeding the returns of said verdict, but
if the said verdict shall be set aside by said court,
the said court shall then direct another inquisition
to be held in the manner before described, and when
the verdict is confirmed and the valuation paid, or
tendered to the owner or owners, or their agent, or
representatives, or paid into the said court, the said
company shall be entitled to the estate and interest
in the same as fully as if conveyed by the owner or
owners, and the said verdict shall be recorded among
the land records of Worcester county, at the expend'
of said company.
SEC. 9. And be! it enacted. That for and in consid-
eration of the expenses the said company shall incur
in constructing works for opening said navigation,
and for stopping and damming said hay as aforesaid,
and for keeping the same in repair, the said works and
the said inlet and wharf, dam and piling, with all their
profits, shall be and are hereby vested in the corpo-
ration forever, and the said company may demand
and collect by law, if necessary, reasonable tolls dor
the use of said inlet or improved channel in said
bays, from the owner or owners or agents of all vessels or boats navigating the same, and for all use of said
dam, wharves or piling, and said company shall have
no power to charge or collect any toll for the use of
said inlet or channel until a depth of three feet of
water has be) been obtained at any ordinary tide.
SEC. 10. Awl be it enacted, That tins Act shall take
effect from and after the day of its passage.
SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That the General Assem-
bly of Maryland reserves to itself the right, at any
time, to repeal, alter, or amend this Act.
