a night, and any person on conviction of a violation
of this section, shall be fined not less than fifty dollars
and not more than one hundred dollars.
SEC. 7. And be it enacted. That no owner, master,
hirer, borrower, employee of any owner, or other
person, shall use or employ any sink-box, or sneak-
boat of any description whatever, for the purpose of
shooting at wild water-fowl therefrom, northward of
the line named and described in section one, of this
Act, without first obtaining a license to so use and
employ the same as is hereinafter provided.
SEC. 8. And he it enacted, That the Clerk of the
Circuit Court of Harford county, and the Clerk of
the Circuit Court of Cecil county, shall, upon the
application of any resident of the State of Maryland,
being the owner of any sink-box or sneak-boat, such
as is allowed by this Act, to be used and employed
in shooting at wild water-fowl therefrom, grant a
license under the seal of his Court to such applicant
to gun after and shoot at wild water-fowl from such
sink-box or sneak-boat, northward of the line named
and described in the first, section of this Act, from
the first day of November in each and every year, to the
thirty-first day of March, next succeeding thereafter,
in each and every year, prodded, that such license
shall not authorize any person using such sink-box
or sneak-boat, to gun after or shoot at wild water-
fowl therefrom, within thin a less distance than half a
mile of any shore in Harford or Cecil county, or
southward of the line particularly described in the
first section of this Act.
SEC. 9. And he it enacted, That every applicant, be-
fore obtaining such license, shall pay to the Clerk of
the Circuit Court, to which lie may apply for the
same, the following rates, viz: for a sink-box, twenty
dollars, and for a sneak-boat five dollars, for each
and every gunning season, as fixed by the second
section of this Act, and it shall be the duty of each
and every person obtaining a license, to exhibit the
same whenever called upon by any officer of the
State, or any other person authorized to demand the
same, or who may be empowered to enforce the pro-
visions of this Act, and every sink-box and sneak-
